Example answer
My first instinct used to be defensive. I have worked to replace that with a habit — listen fully, ask one clarifying question, thank the person before I respond. A few years ago my director told me my written reports were too long and that leadership was not reading them. It stung. But I rewrote the format within a week, got positive feedback on the new version, and have not gone back to the old way since.
